Artist's Description

A Walk Down Latimer Street is a 24x24 inch acrylic abstract painting. Its 1.5 inch thick edges are painted; therefore, no frame is necessary. It was created using a technique called intuitive gestural mark-making. This method of making art was popularized by the New York expressionists of the 40s and 50s and remains immensely popular today. The original is shipped free within the contiguous US. Collectors at other destinations may contact the artist for shipping costs.

About J Loren Reedy

J Loren Reedy

Primarily self-taught, I painted my first painting shortly after retiring from my "real job" of thirty-five years as a bureaucrat for the state. I bought a how-to-paint book, a few paints and brushes and began painting. I began painting with oils. Recently I gave acrylics a try and find I enjoy that medium, too. My style is evolving, meaning the results vary from painting to painting. While I don't exhibit or sell any work I'm not proud of, some paintings do come closer to my style objective than others. And, yes, some paintings are trashed! Collectors from Hawaii to New England and Alaska to Florida have purchased my work. (Hopefully, the internet will expand the market for me to the rest of the world!) Visit my website at J Loren...
